For many years here at VSP, we have been running workshops during the annual Venice Carnival. We've always wondered why with so many photographers attending the event, why didn't somebody setup a special day just for photographers to get their shots - without tourists standing in the way. As these thoughts progressed the idea came to include considerations such as 'wouldn't it be great if the Carnival was in the early summer' so we didn't have the cold or unpredictable conditions to contend with.
Starting in 2010, VSP will be offering our very own 'Photographer's Summer Carnival'. We are inviting our usual models from around Italy with their costumes, we are renting our usual palace on the Canale Grande, and we'll be offering five full days of Venice Carnival costume shoots, with warm weather, no crowds, and a chance to go ultra-creative with our models. Just to be clear, there is no Carnival taking place in Venice - only the private one VSP are offering our customers. Our shoots will take place in a combination of stunning outside locales, inside a palace in period costumes, and in various historical courtyards and cloisters around the city. As usual, our models in costume are completely dedicated to you, and we'll be shooting them in locations with very few people around at all. We'll visit the island of Burano with its multi-coloured houses, shoot models at sunrise and sunset - everything you'd expect to do at Carnival just without the crowds! We hope to see you there.
